The FIDLOCK Twist Bottle 450ml is one of the few ways to get a bottle onto a small frame where a standard cage simply won’t fit. Traditional bottles need clearance to slide in and out. That’s the problem on smaller bikes, and even larger mountain bikes with intricate suspension linkage. This system sidesteps that problem by using a magnetic/mechanical mount that pulls the bottle into place and releases with a twist, so it works in tighter spaces. It’s very secure once mounted, but getting it to fit can take some work. I had to trim the mount and cap slightly to make it sit flush on a small frame. That’s not ideal, but it solved a problem that didn’t have many clean alternatives. The tradeoff is the system itself. You’re locked into FIDLOCK bottles and mounts, which adds cost and limits flexibility compared to standard cages.
