Zulu Five

The Prevelo Zulu Five is for young riders who have outgrown 24-inch bikes but are not quite ready for an adult 29er. It is built for kids riding real singletrack, not just gravel paths or neighborhood loops.

At 23.3 pounds, it is very light for a 26-inch hardtail with an suspension fork. The 100mm RST First 26 air fork has rebound adjustment, making it easy to tune the suspension to the rider's weight and preferences, something that typically cannot be done with cheaper coil spring forks.

The drivetrain is one of the strongest parts of the bike. A 28-tooth chainring paired with an 11-48T Microshift Advent X cassette gives kids a very low climbing gear. While the derailleur doesn't use SRAM's new derailleur hanger standard, the frame is UDH-compatible, which opens the door to future component upgrades.

Tubeless-ready HEIR wheels and Kenda Booster Pro tires are a good match for cross-country and trail riding. They roll quickly, the high TPI count makes them supple on rough terrain, and they can be set up tubeless for lower pressure and better flat protection.

The geometry reflects modern XC standards. A 66-degree head angle adds stability on descents, while the 74-degree seat angle keeps the rider in a strong climbing position.

The Zulu Five is great for kids already riding trails and starting to push harder. It delivers quality suspension, a dependable drivetrain, and performance that matches what you'd expect from a modern XC bike.
