What We Love

  • Adjustable height supports skill progression
  • Packs down for transport and storage
  • Strong enough for kids and adults
  • Consistent shape and stable construction

Worth Knowing

  • Expensive for a single-purpose tool
  • Still takes up space, even when stored
  • Requires appropriate space to use safely

The MTB Hopper Intro 4 is for kids who are starting to push into jumping—and for parents who aren’t just watching.

It’s a modular wooden ramp with multiple height settings, so you can start low and build up as confidence and control improve. That adjustability is the whole point. It lets kids progress without needing a new setup every few weeks.

It breaks down and packs flat, so you can move it around the yard or take it to a trail. And it’s strong enough for adult riders, which means it’s not just a kid-only purchase.

We’ve been using it with a 6-year-old on 20" wheels. Adding a small landing ramp on the back side made a big difference—if he comes in a little slow, it catches the front wheel for a safe landing. That helped him commit to the jump instead of hesitating.

Yes, you could build something out of plywood and a tire. The difference is consistency. The ramp gives kids a repeatable takeoff while they learn timing, body position, and speed.
